This month I will participate in the Slice of Life Challenge!
My goal is to Write. Share. Give. each & every day of March.

Some days creep along so slowly that it seems they'll never end. Others go and go and go at such a fast pace that it feels as though you might just slip right off that hamster wheel and go flying on into space. Today was one of those latter types.
I had a really good day. A seriously solidly good day. Many fine folks graced the library during Late Start Wednesday, throughout the morning and on into Mega Lunch. I had students needing techie help and students needing assistance of the bookish variety. I had kids coloring their stress away and listening to me read aloud, and even some playing the ukelele. I had teachers signing up for computer labs and book talks. I had perfectly lovely conversations over books mutually enjoyed. The afternoon flew by just as quickly and before I knew it I was headed in the direction of home.

In all of this good busyness, I managed to straighten my office a tinge and find my wayward umbrella. This is good news as I can feel the clouds as they begin to gray and gather.
With as lovely as the day was today, I still felt like perhaps the wheel was turning a bit too quickly for my liking. I love moving and shaking; I adore accomplishing my various and sundry daily tasks. However, I will make it a point to remind myself tomorrow to take some time to breathe & be as well as to move & groove. Then, perhaps, my day will find the perfect rhythm that I long for that so often remains elusive.
It's hard to slow the wheel sometimes! Maybe a little rain will slow things a smidge so you can revel in the breathe and be!
ReplyDeleteOh, balance. That elusive ideal. My 18 year old cousin told me she couldn't wait until her life was "balanced" - I just smiled and told her to hang on for the ride!
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about the insane, unhealthy pace of a typical school day. Europeans do it much better.
ReplyDeleteIf you ever get that perfect balance you better share how! Lol
